Meet Mr. Will!

My name is Will Krulee and I am a homeschool father of three girls living in Northern California, and I’ve been happily married to my amazing wife for 20 years. For the past 14 years, I’ve worked in the video game industry as an Animator, Storyboard Artist, and Character Designer, contributing to beloved franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Spyro the Dragon, and Sly Cooper, while also spending several years developing innovative virtual reality experiences. Beyond art, I am passionate about having a lifelong love for learning, reading, playing guitar, serving in my church, and spending as much time outdoors as possible with my family.

Animation Foundations

We’ll explore the twelve principles of animation and how they can be used to create interesting and believable movement. Animation can be complex, but we’ll start at the foundation and build up, learning the fundamentals in a fun and creative way that will inspire each student to dig deeper.

History Through Art

As a homeschool parent, I’ve seen firsthand how much more effectively children learn when they are engaged, having fun, and encouraged to be creative. Through art, storytelling, character design, illustration, and visual narrative, students can move beyond memorizing dates and facts to truly experience history and connect with the people and events of the past. Whether we're exploring the Declaration of Independence, designing characters inspired by historical figures, or bringing famous voyages and events to life through storytelling, each lesson will be creative, collaborative, and engaging. Join me this Fall as we dive into history in a way your student will never forget!

Storyboarding and Comics

In this class, students will learn the art of visual storytelling and the tools storytellers use to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to an audience. Together, we'll create engaging stories and bring them to life through storyboard animatics and comic books. Whether used for animation, video games, films, comics, or even presentations, storyboarding is a powerful creative tool that helps turn ideas into compelling visual narratives.

Short Films

We’ll explore the entire short film production process, from developing and refining ideas to writing scripts, storyboarding scenes, and pitching concepts to the class. Along the way, students will learn how to give and receive constructive feedback, create dynamic shots that communicate clearly, and use visual storytelling techniques to engage an audience. Once our films are planned, we’ll bring them to life by filming with our phones (or any camera of your choice) and learning the basics of editing. We’ll wrap up the class with our very own film festival, where students can share their work and celebrate everything they’ve created together.
